Second-placed Cheetahs host fourth-placed Boland Kavaliers in this 2026 Currie Cup Round 6 clash on Sunday. Boland Kavaliers have won three of their five Currie Cup matches this season, while keeping their two losses within competitive margins. Our prediction backs the visitors to win or keep the margin respectable. 

The Cheetahs survived the Blue Bulls’ late rally to secure victory in a 114-point (62–52) thriller last week, strengthening their top-four bid. At one point, the Bloemfontein-based outfit had extended their lead to a staggering 42 points against the Bulls, only for that advantage to be trimmed to just 10 points after they conceded five tries in the second half. 

That contest once again highlighted the Cheetahs’ inability to put games to bed emphatically in the competition, with three of their four wins coming by no more than 10 points. 

Boland Kavaliers arrive for this clash, occupying the final playoff spot with just a one-point cushion over the cutoff line. The Kavaliers silenced the Johannesburg crowd with a shock 38–29 away win over Fidelity ADT Lions at Ellis Park Stadium last time out to keep their playoff hopes alive. 

Hawies Fourie’s men will be out for another strong display on Sunday to strengthen their playoff bid. They have won three of their five outings in the competition and kept both losses within single-digit margins.
