Second seed Carlos Alcaraz faces the seventh-seeded Tommy Paul on Friday. This is a quarter-final match in the indoor hard court Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Previous matches between the pair have seen at least 20 games and our prediction here is more than 19.5.
In the last four, the winner will take on either third seed Daniil Medvedev or qualifier Adrian Mannarino.
Carlos Alcaraz has won both of his matches this week in straight sets. It's not been easy though with matches against Karen Khachanov and Nikoloz Basilashvili both having more than 19.5 games played in them. They both included a tie-break and a side bet on one here looks a good idea.
Alcaraz leads Paul 7-2 in previous meetings with two wins in Grand Slams this year. All five previous best-of-three-sets matches have seen at least 20 games.
Tommy Paul is playing in his third straight quarter-final. Last week saw him make it to the semi-finals of the indoor hard court tournament played in Lyon.
Paul has had to win two matches this week. He had a difficult first round match against unseeded Andrey Rublev. He won that match in straight sets 7-5 6-2. Then he beat Luciano Darderi for the loss of only two games. He's played more than 19.5 games in six of his last seven matches.
