Daniil Medvedev is the third seed in the Miami Open. He takes on the 30th seeded Cameron Norrie for a place in the last 16. Either 14th seed Ugo Humbert or unseeded Dominik Koepfer will be the opponent in the fourth round for the winner of this match. Medvedev has an excellent record in this Masters 1000 outdoor hard court tournament. He's the defending champion and reached the last eight in the previous two years. Currently ranked fourth in the world, only Jannik Sinner has earned more points than him this year. Medvedev got the defence of his Miami Open title off to a good start with a straight sets win over unseeded Marton Fucsovics, dropping only six games. This is only his fourth tournament of the year and the others saw him reach two finals and a semi-final in Dubai. 

To reach the fourth round, Norrie has to beat Medvedev for the first time. The Brit has lost both of their previous matches without winning a set against the Russian. Both of those matches were played on this surface. Norrie has only once made it to the last 16 in Miami and that was two years ago. He's ranked 31st in the world and 20th in the Live ATP Race. Norrie had to go to three sets in the second round of this tournament, dropping the middle one against Flavio Cobolli. His best performances this year have been a quarter final in Auckland (outdoor hard) and the last four in the clay court tournament in Rio. We go for a straight sets win for Medvedev in this match.
