A Pacific Division matchup on Friday morning as the 31-29-5 Calgary Flames host the 35-23-7 Vegas Golden Knights. The Flames are having a rough time of things in recent times, outscored 5-18 in their last three games. They are 10 points outside of a playoff spot as things stand, struggling with their consistency this season. They have had five and two four-game win streaks since early January but have also had four and two three-game losing streaks, treading water for a long time. Top scorer Yegor Sharangovich has seven goals in his last seven games which has come off the back of an 11-game goal drought. It has been a breakout season in terms of goals for blue-liner MacKenzie Weegar. Until this season he had never scored more than eight, netting 15 times this season, including in two of the three games against Vegas.
Vegas showed great tenacity to top the Seattle Kraken early on Wednesday morning. Down 2-4 with less than eight minutes left, they found an equaliser with just 17 seconds on the clock before winning the game in overtime. Their recent games have been great for a neutral fan with the lamp being lit on a regular basis. Jonathan Marchessault has been with Vegas since day one. This will be his 498th game for the franchise with his 37 goals this season a career high. He has five goals in his last two games so is red hot at present. Adin Hill was a massive part of their Stanley Cup win last season but his recent form is poor, averaging 3.6 goals against per game in his last 10. Only once in that time has he conceded fewer than three as opposed to his first 19 starts when he only conceded three or more in four starts.
