Toyota Cheetahs will travel to face Blue Bulls in their 2026 Currie Cup Round 5 fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls have lost each of their four games in the competition, three of them by heavy margins, and come into this clash as underdogs against the high-flying Cheetahs, hence our prediction backing the away team to cruise to victory.

Blue Bulls are on the verge of missing out on the 2026 Currie Cup playoffs, but could delay their exit with a strong showing on Sunday. After four rounds, the Bulls have found themselves at the bottom of the competition’s standings with just three points. 

They have lost each of their four matches so far, including a 33–31 home defeat to Airlink Pumas last week. Additionally, the Pretoria-based outfit will be looking for only their second win in five Currie Cup home matches, dating back to last season (W1, L3). Three of their four defeats this season have come by wide margins.

After falling by just three points to defending champions Suzuki Griquas, Toyota Cheetahs bounced back with a 31–26 victory over Stormers XXIII on Sunday. 

Sunday's victory marked their third win in four matches and moved them to second in the standings with 16 points. They have won five of their last eight Currie Cup meetings with Blue Bulls (D1, L2), four of which by heavy margins.
