Matchday 6 in the A-League kicks off with Brisbane Roar taking on Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium on Friday. The Roar are fifth in the league standings, while the Big V are 10th after five games. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Brisbane Roar have made a much better start to this season than last, taking eight points from their first five games (W2 D2 L1). They trail league leaders Sydney by just four points.

The Roar earned an against-the-odds point (1-1) at the Go Media Stadium against Auckland last week thanks to a Justin Vidic equaliser in first-half stoppage time. 

Seven of the hosts’ eight points this season have come from their three games at Suncorp Stadium (W2 D1), and they have yet to concede a goal on their home patch.

Meanwhile, Melbourne Victory have got off to a poor start by their usual standards, earning just four points in five games, only one more than basement club Newcastle Jets. 

The Big V lost to Sydney FC 3-0 last week, marking the second match in succession they failed to find the target. They have scored the joint-fewest goals in the top flight so far this season (4). 

The visitors have won one and lost two of their three away games this term. Notably, they’ve conceded eight goals on the road - the most of any team in the division.
