Sixth-placed Boland Kavaliers host table-toppers Suzuki Griquas in the final round of the 2026 Currie Cup league phase on Sunday. The Kavaliers have won two of their three home fixtures in the competition and stand a chance against Suzuki Griquas, who have been inconsistent on the road. Hence, our prediction in favour of the home team. 

Boland Kavaliers suffered a blow to their top-four hopes after their 33–24 defeat away to second-placed Cheetahs last week. Nevertheless, Hawies Fourie’s men are still in contention for a semifinal spot, sitting just three points adrift of the play-off positions.

They have put together an impressive run of five wins in six Currie Cup home matches, dating back to last season. That run includes two wins in their three home fixtures this season. Kavaliers have also kept all three of their defeats in the competition this season within tight margins. 

Despite sitting level with second-placed Toyota Cheetahs on 26 points, Suzuki Griquas are poised to finish top of the standings, boasting a 78-point advantage over Cheetahs in points difference. They continued their fine form with a 38–14 victory over Airlink Pumas last time out. 

However, Pieter Bergh’s side have not impressed in recent road outings. They have lost two of their last four away matches, dating back to last season.
