Champions League football will return to the Allianz Arena this week, when Bayern Munich lock horns with Dinamo Zagreb in the opening round of the competition on Tuesday night. Bayern Munich - GNK Dinamo Zagreb: Form Analysis
The 2023-24 campaign was a total write-off for Bayern Munich, as they ended their domestic league third for the first time since the 2010-11 season and only managed a semi-final appearance in this competition before bowing out to eventual winners Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate.
However, the Bavarians have kicked off the new campaign positively, winning all three of their league matches to date, and they are currently the only team in the German top flight to have a perfect record after the first three games.
Additionally, the Reds have already netted a league-high 11 goals, six of which came in their victory over newly promoted Holstein Kiel on the road on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, perennial Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb missed out on the Champions League last season as they were beaten in qualifying, but they did go on to reach the round of 16 in the Conference League.
This season, though, they made no mistake in booking their spot in Europe’s elite cup competition, beating Qarabag 5-0 on aggregate. However, since their second-leg match against the Azerbaijan outfit, the Blues have failed to win their last two games, drawing one and losing the most recent to Hadjuk Split.
These two sides met in the 2015-16 Champions League group stage and Bayern won both matches, 5-0 and home and 2-0 away.

Bayern Munich's new boss Vincent Kompany announced Leroy Sane in his matchday squad for the first time this season last weekend and the attacker should be available for selection in this one.
In terms of injuries, new signing Hiroki Ito (foot), goalkeeper Daniel Peretz (muscle) and right-back Josip Stanisic are ruled out through injury, while Arijon Ibrahimovic and Tarek Buchmann are flagged as doubts.
