AJ Auxerre will be out to arrest their recent slump when they host Brest in Ligue 1. The newly promoted side hasn’t had it great so far but will hope to shock the in-form Pirates. Follow for our prediction of this match.

Scoring first in their last outing wasn’t enough as Auxerre went on to lose 3-2 at Montpellier. Hamed Traore’s strike saw them lead into the break but they capitulated in the second half.

For the third time in as many matches, Auxerre conceded three goals and some break could help. It just isn’t clear where Christophe Pellisier’s men will find their motivation as fixtures come thick and fast.

In their last four matches they failed to score twice and have no clean sheet this season. They’ve managed just a win in five league matches so far.

After struggling in the opening weeks, Brest have found their footing and will come here as favorites. The 2-0 home win against Toulouse last time out was their third of the season and second in a row.

Manager Eric Roy will particularly be pleased that his charges managed to negotiate their way past their Champions League debut.

There is a renewed sense of belief and earlier losses to Marseille, Lens and PSG seem like a distant memory. An area of improvement, however, is in defence. The visitors have managed just two clean sheets in their opening six matches.

Having had eight different scorers already, points to a potent side and Brest will definitely be the more confident here. They are also unbeaten in six matches against Auxerre.
