Giant killer Anna Kalinskaya has her sights set on yet another big name in Washington. She will be taking on Emma Raducanu in the second semi-final at the Mubadala Citi DC Open. The two meet for the first time, and we have a prediction for the match below.
Kalinskaya got her revenge over Clara Tauson in the 6-3, 7-5 quarter-final win. She will still have her motivations for the semi-final after improving her season’s numbers to 13-13, having arrived here on a losing run.
The Russian is now 38th in the live rank and guns for her first final of the year, having earlier lost in the semis in Singapore.
Raducanu will be well aware of the threat Kalinskaya poses. However, for a player who has seen off Marta Kostyuk, Naomi Osaka, and Maria Sakkari at the same event, she will have enough in her tank for this.
The Brit has not dropped a set in her three matches here. She was only pushed once and needed a tiebreaker in the opening set against Kostyuk.
