The last eight of the outdoor hard court Cincinnati Open sees second seed Carlos Alcaraz face ninth-seeded Andrey Rublev. Possible semi-final opponents include Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton. Here's our match prediction.

Carlos Alcaraz has only once got past this stage in Cincinnati. That was in 2023 when losing in the final. The Spaniard completed 50 wins for the year when winning his third round match. He followed that up with a straight sets victory over Luca Nardi.

The only set he's dropped so far in this Masters tournament was in his opening match against Damir Dzumhur. He leads Rublev 3-1 in previous meetings, the most recent win being at Wimbledon this year.

He's won both of his hard court matches against the Russian in straight sets. Only six matches have been lost by Alcaraz in 2025.

Andrey Rublev  is playing in the last eight of this tournament for the fourth time. He made it to the final in 2021. He's 15th in the live rankings and has also only dropped one set so far in round three. He had to come from a set down to defeat Alexei Popyrin.

Smoother progress was made in his latest match as he beat Francisco Comesana 6-2 6-3.
