Andrey Rublev vs Andy Murray Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Fifth seed Andrey Rublev begins his Indian Wells campaign against unseeded Andy Murray. This is a second round match in the outdoor hard court Masters 1000 tournament. Up next for the winner is a last 32 match against either 32nd seed Jiri Lehecka or wild card Brandon Nakashima. Rublev has already had a good week without even playing a match. He has received back the ranking points he had taken away after his disqualification against Alexander Bublik last week. He's currently fifth in both the overall rankings and the Live ATP Race. The Russian has been ultra-consistent this year with a title won in Hong Kong and then three quarter finals in a row before the controversial loss in the last four of the Dubai Tennis Championships. All of those matches have been played on hard courts. Rublev is 1-1 with Murray in previous meetings but the loss he incurred was seven years ago. The most recent match was in Rotterdam three years ago with Rublev a straight sets winner.

Andy Murray had a good win over qualifer David Goffin in the first round. He won that match in straight sets for the loss of only five games. He now tries to win two matches in a tournament for the first time this year. Murray is 60th in the live rankings  Retirement isn't too far away and his main aim now is to play in the Paris Olympics later this summer. To be able to do that he needs to be in the top 56 in the rankings. Murray hasn't had a good year to date with his first four matches of 2024 all being lost. He served well in round one but this is going to be a lot more difficult a match for him. We tip Rublev to get the win here in straight sets.
