Alexandre Muller vs Alexander Zverev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Alexander Zverev is the fourth seed in this year's US Open. The German takes on wild card Alexandre Muller for a place in the third round of this hard court Grand Slam. Here's our match prediction.

Zverev is the world number four but he's up to second in the live rankings. In the ATP Live Race, only Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have earned more ranking points than him this calendar year.

Despite all the ranking points he's piled up in 2024, Zverev has only won one singles title and that was on clay in Rome. The 27-year-old is so consistent though and only one of his last eight tournaments has seen him fail to reach at least the quarter-finals.

His most recent tournament was the hard court Cincinnati Masters, losing to Sinner in the semi-finals.  The former US Open finalist beat lucky loser Maximilian Marterer in four sets in his first round match. He lost the second on a tie-break. 

Alexandre Muller is the world number 77 and up to a new career-high of  66th in the live rankings. Round one saw the Frenchman defeat Adam Walton in four sets. He had to come from behind to do so after dropping the first set.

That means he's in the second round of the US Open for the first time in his career. It's the third successive Grand Slam in which he has reached round two but he has never made it to the next stage.

Muller had lost two of his last three matches before beating Walton. He has only once won two main draw matches in an ATP hard court tournament this year. That was in Auckland in January where he got to the last eight.
