Fourth seed Alexander Zverev takes on Christopher Eubanks who is seeded 31st. This is a last 32 match in the outdoor hard Miami Open with the winner facing either 15th seed Karen Khachanov or 20th seeded Francisco Cerundolo for a place in the last 16. Zverev won this Masters 1000 tournament six years ago but had lost in the second round in two of the last three years. There were no problems this year as he beat unseeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets losing only six games. The German is fifth in the rankings but a place higher in the Live ATP Race. He hasn't won a singles tournament this year but has reached semi-finals in both the Australian Open and Los Cabos. He's had one previous match against Eubanks and that was last year when beating him on clay.

Eubanks began this tournament ranked 32nd in the world which is three places below his career high achieved last year. He is down to 40th in the live rankings as the American is defending the points earned when reaching the quarter finals here last year. The battle is on therefore to be seeded at Roland Garros. Eubanks had a tough match in the second round of this tournament. He beat unseeded Daniel Evans in three sets, dropping the middle one. Both of the sets he won were via tie-breaks. It took him 160 minutes to win that match. This year hasn't gone well and he was 178th in the ATP Race when this tournament got underway. He hasn't won two matches in a tournament all year and had lost his last four before beating Evans. We tip Zverev to win this in straight sets.
