After a disappointing grass court season, Adam Walton will hope to get some better results this week. The Australian is seeded eighth for the outdoor hard court Los Cabos Open. Round one sees him up against Mexican wild card Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez. Here's our match prediction.

Walton is 97th in the live rankings, 12 places below his career-high. The 26-year-old has lost each of his last four matches, all played on grass. 

His best results have come in Challenger Tour hard court events with one title won and another runner-up spot. On the ATP Tour, his best performance came in the Miami Masters where he made it to round four despite losing a match in the qualifying rounds.

Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez is a career-high 219th in the live rankings and didn't play any grass court tournaments. 29 of his 36 matches this year have been played on clay. Last month saw him lose in the final of a Challenger Tour event played on that surface.

He is attempting to avoid a third successive loss. This is only his second ATP Tour hard court event of the year and he made it to the last eight in Acapulco. He was helped there by getting a walkover against Casper Ruud.
