Two of the biggest rivalries in East Africa will be on show when Uganda hosts Rwanda in the fourth game of Group E in 2022 World Cup qualifiers. These two face off four days after playing their first leg encounter which Uganda won 1-0 away in Kigali. Uganda go to the game placed second in the group with five points while Rwanda are bottom with one point. That win was Uganda’s first in 11 matches and nine of their last 12 matches have yielded under 2.5 goals. In this group, Uganda are yet to concede in their three games and the only loss in 11 World Cup qualification matches that they’ve suffered, came against Egypt a while back. In their last five World Cup qualification matches, Uganda are unbeaten, but they have drawn four, and have four clean sheets. Uganda’s nine straight matches in World Cup qualification have produced under 2.5 goals and they have eight clean sheets in 10.

Rwanda haven’t kept a clean sheet in their three matches in this group, conceding a goal in each of the matches and their only point came in a 1-1 draw with Kenya. They don’t have a very good record against Uganda; in the last 10 meetings, Rwanda have managed just one win and they’ll be hoping for a break here. Four of Rwanda’s last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals and they’ve failed to score in two of their last three. In World Cup qualifiers, they have two wins in the last 13 matches and seven losses in 10 away. They’ve failed to score in six of 10 away matches in World Cup qualifiers and six of the 10 have ended in under 2.5 goals.
