Manchester United are sixth in the Women's Super League in their first season at this level.  United host Tottenham who are a point and a place above them in the table. The home side have won five of their league games but lost the other five. Their most recent game was a 1-0 home loss to Bristol City, a bit of a shocker as that was their opponent's first league victory of the season. Before that, they had won four league matches in a row scring 11 goals and will be looking to bounce back from that recent loss.

Tottenham had lost their last two league matches before beating West Ham United 2-1 at home. They led that game for a long time before a 90th minute equalizer. Six minutes into injury time though, Tottenham got the winner to move up to fifth in the Women's Super League. They are a point behind fourth placed Reading but 13 adrift of Chelsea in third. Before that win though, Tottenham had lost to both Manchester City and Reading conceding seven goals. Away form has seen them earn just the one point from their last three.
