Yannick Hanfmann will face fellow unseeded player Damir Dzumhur in the first round of the 2024 Swiss Open. This Tuesday match comes in the wake of Hanfmann’s poor grass campaign, having exited Wimbledon in the first round. Here we take a look at the stats and offer a prediction for the match.

Hanfmann is having a difficult year, and at present has lost more matches than he has won. He has compiled an unconvincing 14-23 record and is currently on a three-match losing run. The German, however, has defeated Dzumhur before and will look to add to it.

He won their most recent encounter last September which was their only showdown on clay. Heading into this clash, it may work in his favor that he is also a superb clay court player. The current world number 111 has won 200 matches on clay in his career and is a former Gstaad finalist.

Damir Dzumhur defeated Hanfmann the very first time they met. That was in 2020 in the qualifying rounds in Astana. He will be hoping for another similar outcome as he seeks his first main draw tour victory this year.
