The West Indies will look to secure the T20 series against India when they face off for the third match on Tuesday. The hosts currently lead the T20 series 2-0. While West Indian cricket has experienced a difficult few years, they have looked much better in this series, narrowly losing the ODI series 2-1 last month. In the first T20, Rovman Powell and Nicolas Pooran headlined for the Windies with 48 and 41 runs, respectively, while Jason Holders 2/19 helped restrict the Indians to 145/6 in their 20 overs, four runs short of the target. In the second T20, it was Pooran standing out yet again, smashing 67 of just 40 balls with Alzarri Joseph, Romario Shepherd, and Akeal Hosein taking two wickets each. Heading into the third match, the major issue that the West Indians will need to address is their top order, which has failed to fire this series with Kyle Mayers failing to reach double digits in an innings yet. Despite their 2-0 series lead, West Indies are the outsiders in the match at odds of 2.5 and better. 

Meanwhile, India have been tested in this series and will now need to come from behind to secure victory. The world’s number 1 T20 side have failed to impress in the shortest format of the game in the Caribean, with only Tilak Varma showing any sort of form with the bat. Varma is the only batsman to have scored a half-century for India in the last two matches. He struck 67 off 40 balls in the last match and top-scored with 39 in the first match, but neither innings were sufficient to get his side over the line. In terms of bowling, Yuzvendra Chahal has probably been the pick, with two wickets in both matches, though in general, the Indian bowling attack has been unimpressive as a unit. However, as we have come to know about India, they can turn on the class at any moment, and with their backs against the wall, as it is now, they are at their most dangerous. It’s a must-win match for the number-one-ranked side, and it would not be surprising to see them put in a big performance in this one.
