Watford’s hopes of resurrecting their push for a playoff place meet the irresistible Leeds in a matchday 32 meeting in the EFL Championship. This match between the 10th-placed Hornets and the top-ranked Whites at Vicarage Road on Tuesday comes with our prediction of an away win.

With 42 points, Watford are three behind the playoff qualification places, while Leeds have 66 points and a two-point lead over Sheffield United. Watford drew 2-2 away at fellow top-six hopefuls Sunderland last weekend, with a late goal denying them a win. The Hornets seem to have lost pace in the race to the top six, as they have just one win from their last nine league matches, losing six.

Watford lost their last four matches at this venue and that only adds to their dismal recent form. Leeds were humbled 2-0 at home by Millwall in the FA Cup at the weekend, a result that ended their 14-match unbeaten run. The Whites will look to bounce back in the Championship, where a 2-0 win at Coventry last week made it 13 games unbeaten in the league, with nine wins and four draws included.

Leeds won 2-1 in the reverse fixture but were held to a draw in two of their last three league trips.
