For a long while last season, Walsall looked like winning promotion to League One. That didn't materialise though and they remained in League Two. The Saddlers begin the new season with a home match against Swindon Town. Here's our match prediction.
Walsall led the table for a fair while but then only won three of their last 20 league fixtures. They finished fourth in the main season, missing out on automatic promotion by just a point. They made it to Wembley in the play-offs but lost the final to AFC Wimbledon 1-0.
Several new signings have been made this summer. Up front they've acquired Jake Hollman from Australian club MacArthur and Aaron Pressley from Stevenage. The latter has already hit form with a hat-trick against Forest Green Rovers.
Last season saw Walsall win 4-0 at Swindon but lose 1-0 at home. Walsall won 12 home league games last season but just one of the last ten.
