South Africa have only played in seven Rugby World Cup tournaments but this is their fifth semi-final. They lost their opening game to New Zealand in this year's finals and that could well be a dress rehearsal for the final. Since that defeat, South Africa have played four matches and won them all, scoring 198 points and conceding just 16. That includes victories over Italy and Ireland so they come into this final in top form. We guessed that anyway after only losing to New Zealand by ten points. They have played Wales 35 times and won 28 of those matches. The last four have all been won by Wales but three of those were played in Cardiff.

Wales have won all of their matches in Japan but have had some scares. They only beat Australia by four points, Fiji by 12 and in the quarter finals, France by a single point. Jonathan Davies is likely to return for this match after missing the quarter final but that may still leave them flying home after this match. They just haven't been playing at the level of possible world champions. Wales have to defend better in this game but the confident tip is for a South African victory.
