Viking were one of the contenders for the league title in the previous season. They finished third and five points behind the top spot. In the current Eliteserien campaign, they are the early pacesetters with a seven-point cushion at the summit.

The Dark Blues' success this season has been well-reported. They are the league's top scorers with 38 goals scored.

Stromsgodset are in a tricky position at the moment as they've struggled to string together positive results in the league. To say they've been inconsistent would be an understatement for a team that has lost six consecutive league games.

Last time out, Godset succumbed to a convincing 2-0 home defeat against Valerenga. This is the third time in a row that they failed to score a goal, highlighting their struggles in the final third.
