This tournament is being held in Qatar and is similar to the former version of the Club World Cup. The past week has seen six clubs from different continents battling it out to win the title. As Champions League winners, PSG received a bye straight into this final. The Ligue 1 champions (currently second behind Lens this season) will want to go one step further than in this summer's extended FIFA Club World Cup in which they lost the final to Chelsea.
Flamengo qualified for this competition by winning the 2025 Copa Libertadores. They also recently won Brazil's Serie A title, finishing three points clear of Palmeiras despite only winning one of their final three league fixtures. PSG - Flamengo: Form Analysis
PSG received a bye into this FIFA Intercontinental final and were last in action last Saturday when winning 3-2 at Metz in Ligue 1. They were always in control of that game after going 2-0 up in the first 39 minutes.
That victory followed a goalless draw at Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League where they are currently third in the table. PSG are unbeaten in their last three games since being beaten 1-0 at Monaco at the end of November.
Flamengo have had to play two matches to reach this final. They began their FIFA Intercontinental Cup campaign with a 2-1 win over Cruz Azul from Mexico on December 10 with both their goals being scored by Giorgian de Arrascaeta.
Flamengo are chasing yet another title success.
That success took them into the semi-finals against Pyramids from Egypt and win the Challenger Cup. A goal in each half saw them win 2-0 to reach the final. The past few weeks have been massive for Flamengo. They beat Palmeiras to win the Copa Libertadores and then clinched the Serie A title.
Flamengo are unbeaten in their last seven games since losing at Fluminense in mid-November.

Achraf Hakimi is a major doubt for PSG due to his ankle injury. Lucas Chevalier has had a similar injury but he's expected to be fit to play in this final against Flamengo. A big return for the European champions is that of Ousmane Dembele.
He didn't play against Metz in their most recent win. PSG will be looking for him to score more goals for them as he's only scored a couple in Ligue 1 this season. Each goal against Metz was scored by a different player so they have plenty who are in goalscoring form.
They are no strangers to playing in Qatar. Last year saw them beat Monaco to win the Trophee des Champions. Since then they've won Ligue 1, the French Cup, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. Now comes a chance to lift this trophy on Wednesday.

Between November 26 and December 13, Flamengo played six matches, two more than PSG. Their busy and high-pressured fixture list may well count against them in this FIFA Intercontinental final.
Flamengo are a side that PSG will show total respect too. The Brazilians do have some selection problems ahead of this final. Allan is unlikely to play due to a heel injury. Also doubtful for the South Americans is Pedro who has an injured forearm.
