The USA will be keen to put an end to their inconsistent recent form as they come up against a confident Turkey side in an international friendly on Saturday. This match between the 16th-ranked Yanks and the 27th-ranked Crescent-Stars comes with our prediction of both teams scoring goals.
It has been an indifferent recent few months for the USA, who finished fourth in the CONCACAF Nations League. That was because of a 2-1 defeat to Canada, which was preceded by a 1-0 defeat against Panama. These defeats were still preceded by four consecutive wins, as the USA look to get back to winning ways.
With just over a year to prepare for next year’s World Cup, where they are co-hosts, the USA will look to avoid losing three in a row. Having won their last two matches against Turkey, each with a 2-1 score, they at least have history on their side.
Turkey are a side on a high, as their League B campaign in the UEFA Nations League ended in a promotion after defeating Hungary 6-1 on aggregate. That included scoring three goals each time, giving the Turks a fifth win in their last seven matches.
With only one defeat in their last eight matches and scoring 16 times in that span, Turkey are looking good value to continue that momentum.
