Top seeds TNT have a 1-0 lead over the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA Cup semi-finals. They struggled to get that lead though winning the first match by a single point. This is a best-of-seven series, so another win for TNT will really put them in the driving seat. TNT finished top in the elimination round winning nine of their ten matches. They had a comfortable win in the last eight with an 84-71 win over Barangay Ginebra. That took them into this semi-final and the first of the possible seven games was won 89-88. TNT led by a point at half time but then they stormed ahead, winning the third quarter by ten points. The Beermen fought back in the final quarter, winning it by ten points but just falling short of victory. San Miguel Beermen are the fourth seeds for the PBA Cup.  They were fourth in the final elimination round table with seven wins but four defeats. That took them through to a quarter final against Northport and they won that 2-0. They were tight games though with a six-point winning margin for the two games. Another close match looks likely here, go for TNT to edge it.
