16 of the 36 clubs playing in the league phase of this competition won their opening game. That includes Arsenal, though they are only 13th in the Champions League table. The Gunners bid to make it two wins out of two with a home victory over 22nd-placed Lille who lost their opening game. Our prediction here is Arsenal wins and leads at half and full time.
Arsenal will be determined to win the 2026-27 Champions League after finishing as runners-up to PSG last season. Only a penalty shoot-out prevented them from becoming European champions. They have made a strong start to the new season with Brighton and Hove Albion being the only side to defeat them.
Lille lost their opening game in this league phase and won't want to suffer another defeat at the Emirates. The Mastiffs are also going well in their domestic league, though their one loss this season in Ligue 1 was on their travels. They will find this match a tough task indeed.

Arsenal - Lille: Form Analysis
Arsenal finished top of the league phase last season with all eight of their games being won. The Gunners got their 2026-27 season off to a good start with a 1-0 win away at Napoli. Over 90 minutes, they are now unbeaten in their last 16 Champions League fixtures. Their only loss was on penalties to PSG in last season's final.
The weekend saw Arsenal beat Leeds United 2-1 at home. They have won five of their six games in this season's Premier League, only being beaten on the south coast by Brighton & Hove Albion. Arsenal are second in the table, three points behind Manchester City, though disciplinary action against City might change that.
They have only lost one of their last 25 home Champions League games, a loss to PSG in 2025.
Poor start made by Lille.
Lille suffered a defeat in their opening game in the league phase. They twice led at home to Real Betis, but ended up losing the game 3-2.
That was their fourth loss in their last five European games after being beaten in the last 16 of the Europa League by eventual winners Aston Villa. Les Dogues are second in Ligue 1 this season, a point behind leaders Monaco. Their only loss has been away at Nice, but at the weekend they beat bottom-of-the-table Le Havre 1-0.

Arsenal & Lille Squad Analysis
Arsenal played seven home games in last season's Champions League. Six of them were won with the other being a goalless draw with Sporting. Five of those seven games saw the Gunners keep a clean sheet. They managed another in their opening game in this season's competition, winning 1-0 at Napoli.
They had a tough match at home to Leeds on Saturday, needing a late goal to give them a 2-1 win. There was good news for them with Declan Rice looking a lot sharper than he has in recent games. He continues to be an important player for his club side.
Kai Havertz, Ezri Konsa and Max Dowman along with Rice all pulled out of their national teams, but played the weekend. Not such good news was the fact Piero Hincapie injured an ankle in the warm-up for Saturday's game and is doubtful for this match. Some rotation of his squad is likely by Arteta with Gyokeres and Eze possibly starting.
No Mbappe for Lille.
Lille will be without Ethan Mbappe for this game and the next two in the league phase after he was sent off against Real Betis. Another selection problem for the Ligue 1 club is that Tiago Santos was stretchered off during the weekend's narrow win over Le Havre.
Romain Perraud also failed to complete that match. Basar Onal is expected to return after missing that match. It'll be a big night for Olivier Giroud. The 40-year-old will be returning to his former club, but is likely to start the match on the bench. Lille have lost four of their last five away European games, so will be wanting a better result on Tuesday.

Our Arsenal vs Lille Prediction
Arsenal got off to a winning start in this season's Champions League. A 75th minute goal by Martin Odegaard saw them win 1-0 at Napoli. They won the league phase last season with a 100 percent record and look a good bet to get a second win as they host Lille.
The pressure will be on Ligue 1 club Lille if they lose this game. Twice they led Real Betis in their first game of this league phase, but ended up losing 3-2. Our main Arsenal v Lille OSC prediction is Arsenal wins and leads at half and full time.
