Their last outing wasn’t an ordinary victory; Les Violets came from behind to beat Lyon 2-1 away from home. They are unbeaten in seven meetings with Metz.

Metz have endured a tough return to the topflight and remain favorites for the drop. Seven matches into the season, they are yet to post a win. Heading into this game, they have only picked up two points. 

Those came from draws with fellow struggling sides Angers and Le Havre. Before breaking off for the international week, Les Grenats suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Marseille.
