The 11th-place Toronto Raptors will look to pull even to .500 when they host the floundering 14th-place Washington Wizards on Monday. The Raptors are beginning to turn things around after stumbling out of the blocks with a 1-3 start to the year. They managed back-to-back away wins over the Spurs and Mavericks before losing 117-94 to the Boston Celtics in their last outing. Toronto will now return home to the Air Canada Centre following their four game away trip which saw them split their contests 2-2. The Raptors are 4-5 on the year but trail the top eight by only one game in the early days of the season. The hosts record is skewed somewhat considering they’ve had the toughest strength of schedule in the NBA so far. They’re close to double-digit favorites here against arguably the worst team in the league.

The Wizards are facing a difficult spot here as they gear up for the second of a road back-to-back as well as their third game in the past four days. Washington’s most recent appearance ended in a 102-94 defeat to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. The result dropped the Wizards to 2-7 on the year in what was their second consecutive defeat and dropped their road record to 1-5. It was only the first time this season that the Wizards have failed to score over 100 points. The visitors play with the single highest pace in the league (105.3), meaning they are able to score at a decent clip but also give up an extremely high amount of points. Washington currently ranks second in the NBA in terms of opponent points allowed (123.8).
