by Devesh Jaganath in Currie Cup Predictions
The second-placed Natal Sharks will head to North Harbour Stadium to take on the bottom side, the Griffons, in the Currie Cup on Friday. The visitors are level on points with the current leaders, Free State Cheetahs, while the Griffons are the only side that cannot qualify from the position they're in. The Sharks put on yet another excellent display against the Cheetahs last weekend at the Shark Tank, beating the leaders 35-23. They are now on a five-match winning streak dating back to week six of 14. With the Pumas failing to beat Western Province the next day, The Sharks leapfrogged the Pumas into second place. They have won eight of their 11 matches which is the highest in the competition. However, they are level on points with the Cheetahs, who have taken ten bonus points compared to The Shark's six and have a better points difference of 31. The Sharks could qualify for the knockout stages if they win here and if the Griquas are unable to beat the Cheetahs on Saturday.
Meanwhile, The Griffons were handed another hiding in their last match against the Griquas, leaving them rock bottom in the standings. The hosts have managed just one win in their eleven matches and are on nine points thanks to the five bonus points they’ve picked up to date. The second-from-bottom Golden Lions are 17 points ahead of them. The host's only win in this tournament came at this venue back in week four, meaning they come into this match on a seven-match losing streak. They took on this opponent in the opening week of the tournament and lost 32-16. The Griffons may not be able to qualify for the knockout stages from here but will want to cause a few upsets over their final few fixtures. However, going up against a formidable-looking Sharks team, they are likely to find it difficult in this one.

Our Hollywoodbets Sharks vs Griffons Prediction
The Sharks have continued their excellent form since their fixture congestion in the early stages of the tournament. They are now also marginal favourites to go on to lift the trophy after their solid win over the Cheetahs last week. We expect the men from Durban to put on another impressive showing in this one. Our Sharks v Griffons prediction: Sharks -12.
