Taylor Fritz vs Dušan Lajović Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Taylor Fritz attempts to reach the third round at Roland Garros for the second successive year. To do so, the 12th seed must beat unseeded Dusan Lajovic. That would set up a match against either unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis or qualifier Giulio Zeppieri. Fritz is the world number 12 and currently 11th in the Live Race. His form in Grand Slams is impressive with the last two he's played both seeing him reach the last eight. His record on clay hasn't been as good as that on hard courts or grass in the past but that seems to be changing. He reached his first ATP clay court final this year in Munich. That's been followed by getting to the semi-finals in Madrid and the last eight in the Italian Open. The first round of this tournament saw him beat unseeded Federico Coria in four sets. He lost the first but won the next three for the loss of only four games.

Dusan Lajovic had a tougher first round match and had to go to a final set to beat Roman Safiullin. He's at 61st in the latest rankings but that first round win has taken him up to 56th. In 2014 he got to the fourth round at Roland Garros but since then has only once reached round three. The past three years had seen him lose in the first round of this Grand Slam, at least he's avoided another one this year. Lajovic reached two quarter-finals on the South American clay court swing and got to the last four in Barcelona. Three of his last four matches on clay had been lost before his first round match at Roland Garros. We tip Fritz to win this in straight sets.
