The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants will meet in match 57 of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday afternoon. The hosts are currently fourth in the league standings, while the visitors are fourth. The Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently holding onto the final playoff position and are one of three teams tied on 12 points. They enter this contest off the back of a defeat, beaten by seven wickets by the Mumbai Indians on Monday afternoon. Travis Head top-scored for the side with 48(30), and Pat Cummins added 35* to help the team to 173/8 in their 20 overs. KKR set them a target of 235/6, but LSG were only able to respond with 137 before they were bowled out in 16.1 overs. Marcus Stoinis made 36(21), and KL Rahul added 25(21) in the loss, while Naveen-ul-Haq took 3/49 with the ball. KL Rahul’s knock saw him remain in fourth place for the orange cap, currently on 431 runs in 11 innings, though he was overtaken by Travis Head the next day. The major criticism of LSG this year has been their overreliance on the batting lineup and that was evident against KKR on Sunday. The Knight Riders dominated LSG’s bowling attack, and when the batting order failed to fire, the side looked fairly average. They will be tested again here by SRH, who currently have two of their bowlers ranked inside the top 20 wicket-takers in the competition.
