Buoyed by their derby win against Lens, Lille travel to Alsace where they face underwhelming Strasbourg. The hosts finally claimed their first league win in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Angers, which has them sat in 14th place with eight points to their name. Tipped to star this year after last season’s impressive league campaign, Strasbourg have underwhelmed so far, having won a sole game in their last ten. They have also been winless in their last seven at the Stade de la Meinau, conceding in six of those. The Alsatian team have struggled in their recent encounter with Les Lillois, against whom they have lost all of their previous three home meetings, conceding seven goals in the process.

 Lille should be brimming with confidence after emerging as victors in the derby against bitter rivals Lens, also ending their seventeen game unbeaten streak in a majestic performance. Paulo Fonseca’s side might have struggled to find their bearings early on but now look like they have picked up form, winning three of their last five games. They have also performed well on the road this season, having the fourth best home record of the division and winning two of their last four away games. To top it off, they are unbeaten in Alsace in their last four encounters with Strasbourg, clinching the victory in their last three.
