Stormers vs Clermont Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions Cup

The final match of the group stages in the Heineken Champions Cup is set to take place this weekend, and in our featured match, we will see the Stormers play host to Clermont at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The home side strengthened their chances of moving through to the knockout stages when they overcame London Irish 14-28 at the Gtech Community Stadium last week, which was their second win in three matches in this competition. The Stormers are in fourth place in Pool B and still have an outside chance of qualifying in the top three if they can pull off a big win and if the likes of Leicester or La Rochelle slip up above them.  The home side has won their last five matches on home turf and will be expecting to extend that record against a Clermont side that has found it hard to find results on the road lately.

Clermont’s recent form has been below their expectations, registering just one win over Perpignan in their three matches so far, which was also their only win in their last five matches in all competitions. They currently occupy the eighth and final qualification spot in Pool B, with six points in three matches, just one point above the Sale Sharks in ninth. Their away form doesn’t paint much of a better picture, with no wins in their last four matches on the road.  In their last match, Clermont was dismantled on their home patch by a vastly superior Leicester side that went on to win the match 29-44. However, their only win in this tournament did come in the reverse fixture against this opponent in December, and they will be hoping for a repeat of that performance if they are to guarantee their chances of qualifying for the next round.
