Buzzing from a perfect Champions Cup outing, Stade Toulousain return to the Top 14 where they host RC Toulon on Saturday. Toulousain currently occupy the final playoff spot while Toulon hold a direct ticket to the semis. Stuttering recent form in the Top 14 has seen Toulousain drop to sixth spot while on form Toulon are second. Toulousain certainly enjoyed the Champions Cup window, collecting bonus point victories over Harlequin and Cardiff Rugby. This came as a welcome distraction after losing their last Top 14 game against Stade Francais. Their league form has seen shaky; they are yet to win successive games since September. Going by their recent sequence and strong home form, Toulousain will be very confident coming to face Toulon.

Toulon are riding high in the league as they are just a point off top spot currently occupied by Racing 92. They are however hanging by a thread in the Champions Cup after back to back defeats to Northampton Saints and Exeter Chiefs. The four time French champions currently possess the best attack in the championship with 252 points scored. Their success has also hinged on a well disciplined unit that has conceded a championship low 81 penalties. Their away form is however a major cause for concern having won two of their last eight.
