Sorana Cirstea has slipped from 89th to 153rd in the live rankings as she's defending the ranking points earned when making it to the semi-finals here in 2024,
No quarter-finals have been reached since then and her 2024 season ended in July due to injury after a run of six straight losses. Only one of her five matches had been won this year. Cirstea was given a wild card this week and beat tenth seed Daria Kasatkina in round one losing just five games.
