Top seed Jannik Sinner will be looking for some revenge in the hard court Cincinnati Masters quarter-finals. He takes on the sixth seed Andrey Rublev who beat him in Montreal last week. Can Sinner beat him this time? Here's our match prediction.
Despite last week's three-set loss to Rublev last week, Sinner has won five of their eight previous matches. The Italian is 3-2 up in hard court matches played against Rublev. Sinner still tops the overall and ATP Race rankings and is in the Tour Finals already.
He did have fitness problems in that match in Montreal and has seemed fitter so far this week. He's only had to play one game so far in this Masters tournament. That saw him beat unseeded Alex Michelsen in straight sets.
He was due to face Jordan Thompson on Friday but his Australian opponent withdrew from the match. That means he's made it to at least the last eight of all 11 tournaments he's played in this year with 46 wins out of 51 matches.
Andrey Rublev is also in consistent form and is playing in his fourth consecutive quarter-final. The Russian is the world number six in both the overall and ATP Race. He can't get any higher in the overall rankings even if winning this tournament.
Last week saw him lose in the final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. He's won both of his matches in Cincinnati in straight sets. Wins have come against Zhizhen Zhang and Brandon Nakashima. We tip Sinner to get revenge and win in straight sets.
