The standalone match in the Currie Cup on Saturday comes from Kings Park Stadium where the Sharks will take on the Griffons. The hosts are in third place in the standings, while the visitors are bottom of the table. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After a very slow start to this year’s Currie Cup, the Sharks have come back magnificently in the second half of the competition and are now on the verge of locking down a qualification spot.

The Durbanites have 26 points, two more than fourth-placed Cheetahs, owing to a record of four wins, one draw and three losses. However, they have picked up eight bonus points, which is the most of any team in the competition this year.

With the Cheetahs set to face the Pumas next weekend, a win and a bonus point here should be enough for the Sharks to guarantee themselves a final-four berth. 

Meanwhile, the Griffons will play out their final two games of the competition as a mere formality as their knockout qualification hopes ended several weeks ago. 

The Griffons have failed to win any of their eight games to this point with their three points all coming as bonus points, including two for tries scored and one for losing by fewer than seven points. 

It’s tough to make much of a case for the visitors, who have won just one match over the last two seasons in the Premier Division.
