Sebastian Korda is in excellent form at present and won the  hard court Washington title last weekend. He begins his Montreal campaign with a first round match against Vasek Pospisil. Can Korda continue his winning ways? Read our match prediction.

Korda is now up to a career-high 18th after winning five matches to take the Washington title. That was his first ATP Tour hard court title, the other event he won was played on clay in 2021. The American is now 19th in the ATP Live Race.

He's been in good form for a while now. On grass this summer he reached one semi-final and was runner-up in the Libema Open. On hard courts earlier this year, he made one last eight appearance and reached the semi-finals in Adelaide. The winner here faces either Taylor Fritz or Mariano Navone in round two.

Pospisil has had two previous meetings with Korda and they are level at 1-1. The only ATP Tour match was won on a hard court by Korda in Washington three years ago. The Canadian will have the home support here but will need it.

He's the world number 610 in the latest ranking list but has a career-high of 25th, achieved ten years ago. The 34-year-old has spent most of this year playing on the Challenger Tour and has only reached one quarter-final.

He's not played a great deal due to health problems. On the ATP Tour this year, he's played just once before this week and was beaten in the first qualifying round of the Dubai tournament.  He received a wild card to play in Montreal but we tip Korda to win this in straight sets.
