Ireland had an inconsistent Six Nations tournament last year but by the end of 2016 had recorded wins over New Zealand and Australia so it wasn't too bad a year. Scotland finished a place below Ireland last year, an improvement after a long period without even winning a match. Scottish sides are doing well in domestic rugby this season and there are hopes that Scotland will have a good campaign this time around. Ireland have been boosted by the return to fitness of both Johnny Sexton and Sean O'Brien. Sexton being back could mean big trouble for the Scottish in this game if he can repeat previous form. Last year's Six Nations campaign was wrecked by injuries to key players and if they can stay fit this year, they could well be challenging for the title again. They can start the campaign with a win over Scotland.
