San Miguel Beermen and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel meet in Game 2 of the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals on Friday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium. The Beermen, who are trailing 1–0 in the series, will look to bounce back to strengthen their chances of progressing to the next round. They have won three of their last four meetings with the Gin Kings, with our prediction favoring them to ace the contest.

San Miguel Beermen initially had Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on the ropes in Game 1, racing to a nine-point lead. However, they slipped up late in the second quarter, surrendering their advantage to trail by four points at halftime. 

Import Jordan Murphy led all scorers with 29 points for Ginebra, while Scottie Thompson added 17 to condemn the Beermen to a 104–95 defeat. CJ Perez and Don Trollano led San Miguel's scoring, contributing 21 and 20 points, respectively, to keep the score respectable.

Despite that Game 1 setback, San Miguel Beermen enter tomorrow's clash as slight favorites. They finished the group stage with a remarkable 9–3 record, including a run of five wins from their final six games. Leo Austria's team have also won three of their last four meetings with Ginebra across all conferences. 

Meanwhile, Ginebra rounded off their group-stage campaign with a 5–5 record, narrowly sneaking into the playoffs with just a one-win advantage.
