AS Roma are second in the table and only a point behind league leaders Juventus. They can go top if they win at Sampdoria and Juventus fail to win away at Sassuolo. Roma have won their last four league games and only conceded one goal.  Away form is pretty good with three wins in the last five but they have suffered defeats at Juventus and sixth placed Atalanta. Sampdoria are nowhere near as well placed as those two sides and start the weekend in 16th. That's two places above the relegation zone but few worries of being demoted as they are 14 points clear of the bottom three. It's a good job there are three sides totally adrift at the bottom because Sampdoria have gone six league games without a win. They also lost in the TIM Cup losing 4-0 away to their opponents in this game. Earlier in the season they also lost 3-2 away to Roma in the league. Roma can make it three wins out of three against Sampdoria with an away victory in this game.
