Sixth placed Sale Sharks host Newcastle Falcons who are bottom of the English Premiership. The home side are bidding to make it three wins out of four, while the Falcons have lost all of their three league fixtures. Here's our match prediction.
Sale began the new English Premiership season with a hard-fought 12-11 home win over Harlequins. A second successive win looked possible when they led by a point at half-time away to Saracens. However, they then conceded 33 points in the second half
They got back into winning ways with a home victory over Gloucester. Again they led at half-time with a six-point lead over the visitors but only ended up winning the match by four. They have won their last five home league fixtures.
It's more of the same for Newcastle Falcons. They finished bottom of the table last year with all their matches ending in defeat. There's no relegation in the English Premiership though, so they're still in the top-flight.
Three league games have been played this season and the losses have continued. Their opening league match saw them beaten 24-3 at home by Bristol and that was followed by a 28-14 loss at Harlequins.
Last week saw defeat number three of the season as they were beaten 42-10 at home by Leicester Tigers. They conceded 400 points in nine away league games last season. We go for Sale to win this match on a -21.5 points handicap.
