Royal Challengers Bengaluru will target a win to address their recent losing run as they host Mumbai Indians on Sunday in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). This match features the 3rd-placed RCB and the 9th-placed MI with our prediction of a home win, continuing the recent poor form of the visitors.
Bengaluru have 12 points (W6, L4) and are two points behind leaders Sunrisers Hyderabad after Thursday’s match. Mumbai have six points (W3, L7) and are only above the bottom on run rate.
RCB lost a high-scoring, rain-affected game on Thursday to LSG by nine runs, for a second consecutive defeat. They are playing this match in Raipur, but four wins in five home games this season is good news.
Virat Kohli’s form will be crucial as he looks to bounce back from scores of 23*, 28, and 0 (latest). Bhuvneshwar Kumar (17 wickets) is perched at the top of the bowlers this season, so that department looks settled.
Mumbai defeated Lucknow by six wickets in a high-scoring game last Monday, with Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma scoring 80s. They are only marginally hanging on to their playoff hopes and need to be consistent. That could well depend on how their best players – Rickleton (380 runs) and Allah Ghazanfar (12 wickets) – continue to perform in this crunch game.

Our Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians Prediction
Two defeats in a row have taken the sheen off RCB’s campaign, as they fell behind in the race to finish first. A top-two finish is still up for grabs, but Bengaluru need to get their act together in a technical home game. The visit of the Mumbai Indians is usually considered a crunch match, but MI’s form this season has been dire, even taking into account the vagaries of this format.
Mumbai lost to RCB by 18 runs at the Wankhede earlier in this season, and our Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians prediction is Royal Challengers Bengaluru wins.
