Chennai Super Kings will hope not to fall for a third straight defeat in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign, as they play defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday in Bengaluru. This match #11 of the tournament between RCB and CSK comes with our prediction of Virat Kohli scoring over 33.5 runs.
RCB have two points from one match and are third in the standings ahead of Saturday’s matches. CSK have zero points after two losses and are bottom of the standings with a negative NRR of 2.562.
Bengaluru started the 2026 campaign with a six-wicket win at this venue against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening game of the season. Bowling first, they restricted Hyderabad to 201 for 9, as new recruit Jacob Duffy (3 for 22) impressed in the powerplay.
The chase was anchored by Virat Kohli (69* off 38) with Devdutt Padikkal (61 off 26) also impressing in a 101-run second-wicket partnership.
Chennai started the season with defeats to Rajasthan Royals (by eight wickets) in Guwahati and to Punjab Kings (by five wickets) in Chennai. The two defeats underlined their concerns across the board, both in batting and bowling.
Ayush Mhatre (73 off 43) impressed in the game against Punjab, while Anshul Kamboj (four wickets, ER 10.50) has looked the only likely bowler who can be effective.

Our Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings Prediction
Chennai haven’t started this IPL campaign in the way they usually do, losing both their matches. They didn’t look settled, and even a 200+ target couldn’t be defended by their bowlers. Bengaluru, on the other hand, were clinical in their opening match and look a much more settled unit than the Super Kings. Chennai will also have to manage the quick turnaround between matches, as they played only on Friday.
Leading the hosts would be their talisman Kohli, and our Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings prediction is Virat Kohli over 33.5 runs.
