AS Roma are looking to overturn a massive 6-2 loss when they host Manchester United in the Europa League semi final second leg in Rome. Roma were dominated by United in the first leg, losing heavily after taking a 2-1 lead at half time at Old Trafford. The Italians are struggling to even get to a Europa League slot for next season, and head to this game having lost 2-0 to Sampdoria. Roma have failed to win in their last six matches, and have just two wins in the last 10. They have four losses in the last five matches and while they’ve failed to score in just one, they’ve conceded two or more in the four losses. It isn’t the best run of form to take to such a game, and they’ve also failed to win their last two Europa League matches, while they have no clean sheet in the last four. They need a win by at least four clear goals to be able to overturn this game but they’ve managed that just once this season – in the 5-0 win over Cluj in November. They are however unbeaten in their last nine Europa League matches at home.

Manchester United have a very good form away from home this season and they will hope it plays out in this game. In seven competitive matches, Manchester United have lost only once to AS Roma, and that was in their first ever meeting, in 2007. The visitors had no game over the weekend after their match against Liverpool was called off, and it means they will go to this game well rested. Their last match was against Roma and with the history they’ve had against this opponent, they’ll be eyeing a simple task to finish off the tie. United have no loss in the last seven matches, having won six and failed to score in just one. Last season United exited this competition at the semi finals stage and will hope lighting doesn’t strike twice. This season, they dropped to Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group and they have gone on a seven-game unbeaten run, winning five. They have three straight away wins in this competition, and for the second time, they will be playing in Italy, having earlier eliminated AC Milan.
