There was a time when we weren't certain that Novak Djokovic would make a successful comeback from injury. His first six months of this year showed glimpses of getting back to the incredibly high standards he'd set a couple of years ago. Then his comeback escalated with a final at Queens and winning the Wimbledon title and the US Open. He's won his last three tournaments and is on a 21-game unbeaten run. Before having to go to three sets to beat Marin Cilic in the quarter finals, he'd won seven games in a row in straight sets. Djokovic takes over from Rafael Nadal as the new world number one on Monday and has won his last three matches against his Swiss opponent.

Roger Federer continues his bid to win his 100th singles title but only his second triumph in the Paris Masters. His most recent title came at the Swiss Indoor Championships and he also made it through to the last eight of the Shanghai Masters. So far this week he's only had to play two matches after a walkover in the second round. He's beaten Fabio Fognini and Kei Nishikori, both in straight sets. His recent record against Djokovic isn't great with three straight defeats with the most recent being a straight sets defeat at the Cincinatti Masters. This is actually only the second time they have met on court since the 2016 Australian Open. Djokovic is in the better form at present and can get the win here.
