Real Sociedad vs Anderlecht Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League

The second round of matches in the league stage of the Europa League begins this week with Real Sociedad vs. Anderlecht one of the intriguing fixtures. Imanol Alguacil’s Erreala start the game as the favourites and as the home side, will be expecting three points. But the Purple and White, under caretaker manager David Hubert, will be hoping to defy any prediction of defeat by landing another win in this clash. 

Sociedad had not started the season very well with just one win in their first eight games. That run included four defeats and three draws, one of which came away to Nice in the opening round of fixtures in the Europa League. 

However, the Spaniards finally found some form at the weekend when they faced Valencia at the Reale Arena and warmed up for this game with an impressive 3-0 win. Talented Icelandic striker Orri Oskarsson made a big impact with two late goals to put Valencia to the sword.

Having come through the Europa League playoffs, beating Dinamo Minsk 1-0 home and away, Anderlecht won their first fixture in the Europa League stage, defeating Ferencvaros 2-1 at the Lotto Park stadium. Domestically, the Purple and White have lost just one game but drawn five, a run that cost Brian Riemer his manager's job back in mid-September.

Since then Anderlecht have drawn twice, 0-0 at home to Charleroi and 1-1 away to Dender, as well as winning their Europa League tie with Ferencvaros under caretaker boss David Hubert.
