Toulon host Exeter Chiefs in their opening European Rugby Champions Cup game. This match is being played in Pool C which also includes Glasgow Warriors, Northampton Saints, Munster and Bayonne. The top four in the pool will make their way into the last 16. Toulon are going well in the Top 14 league this season with six of their nine games being won. That's taken them to second place in the table, only a point behind Racing 92. Their most recent fixture produced a 36-13 home win over fourth placed Section Paloise. That was their fourth successive league win, last losing in early November. Home form is strong with all five of their Top 14 games this season being won with a points difference of 89. Three of those wins were by at least 20 points.

Our prediction would be different if Exeter Chiefs were the home side in this match. They are sixth in the English Premiership with five wins and three defeats. The Chiefs have won all four of their home games and been highly impressive in doing so. It's a different story on their travels though with one win (at bottom-of-the-table Newcastle Falcons) and three losses. Last weekend saw them lose 41-24 at Bath. If they want to make it out of this pool and into the knockout stages,they really need to improve on the road. We believe that their campaign will start with a defeat in France.and tip Toulon to win this on a -15 points handicap.
