Strasbourg will pile their hopes on an impressive home form when they welcome struggling Montpellier for a Sunday Ligue 1 match. Both teams lost in their last outings, leaving Strasbourg ninth and Montpellier second from bottom. Heading into this encounter, we have a prediction below.

Strasbourg’s last league game ended in a shock 1-0 loss away to Rennes. They couldn’t rise from it in their next game, losing 3-1 to Angers at home in the French Cup.

It is the first time since November that they have to deal with back-to-back defeats. However, playing at home offers some optimism. Strasbourg are unbeaten in three home matches.

They’ve suffered just one loss in the last 10 home league games.

Two straight wins in January presented Montpellier’s best run of the season as they beat Monaco and Toulouse. They, however, failed to back them up when hosting Lens in their latest outing.

That one ended in a 2-0 defeat, not only worsening their season but extending their search for a first clean sheet of the season. It hasn’t been any easier for them on the road either.

Their 2-1 win over Toulouse was the first away win since May, when they beat the same opponent by the same scoreline. Before this win, they had suffered nine straight defeats away from home in all competitions.
